Everything is connected
The mission of a museum such as the Castle of Rivoli is that of maintaining and valorising its heritage while defining strategies to make it more usable. Tutto è connesso (All is connected, TN) was conceived in this perspective. The project - on from June 8, 2010 to January 9, 2011 - proposes an original way to present its permanent collection. To this end, artists were directly involved in re-arranging their work, integrating it or suggesting new combinations. Among those invited: Tacita Dean, Simon Starling, Regina José Galindo, Giulio Paolini, Marisa Merz, Giovanni Anselmo, Giuseppe Penone and Pierre Huyghe. The exhibit will also present the Castle’s recent acquisitions, which have never been shown so far, featuring names such as Goshka Macuga, Emily Jacir e Susan Philipsz.
During the exhibition, Allora & Calzadilla present their Stop, Repair, Prepare, 2008 performance: through a hole in the centre of a grand piano the artist executes variations on Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.
